Imitation: Highest Form of Flattery or a Daylight Robbery?
“Imitation: Highest Form of Flattery or a Daylight Robbery? How Should We React to Being Copied?”
Hosted by: Paul Hodgkin from Patient Opinion
Wednesday 9th April, Loft, 17:30
Does it matter if your great idea is copied? Should we welcome ‘second-movers’? Or try and kill them off as fast as possible? Does protecting your Intellectual Property help? Is being open and collaborative the real key to survival or an invitation to commercial suicide?
Over the 9 years that Patient Opinion has been sharing stories about healthcare it has been explicitly imitated by the state on two occasions and has seen at least 15 similar sites come and go without leaving a trace. This session will explore how you might feel, and how you might react when you find your business is being copied – especially in the digital world.
